How to make one
- Pick a template. It opens in the design maker, in your browser.
- Change the words and pictures. Double-tap any text to type over it, and double-tap a photo frame to add your own photo.
- Make it yours. With nothing selected, choose a colour palette and a font pairing, and the whole design changes to match. Move, resize or add anything you like.
- Download. Download a PNG for a still Story, or Video if you've added an animation.

Tips
- Instagram puts your name at the top of a Story and the reply bar at the bottom. Turn on Show margins to see the safe area, and Check design warns you if text sits where those buttons go.
- Under Animation, Mixed brings each item in one after another in a style that suits it. Preview it, then download a video.
- The same size works for Facebook Stories, TikTok, YouTube Shorts covers and WhatsApp status.
- Highlight covers are shown as small circles on your profile, so keep the icon in the middle and simple.
Common questions
Can I make an animated Story?
Yes. With nothing selected, choose an animation, press Preview to watch it, then Download › Video. Most browsers make an MP4, which Instagram accepts.
How do I add a link?
Instagram adds links with its own link sticker when you post the Story. Leave space for it, or add a QR code to the design for people viewing it on another screen.
Is it really free?
Yes. There’s no account, no watermark and no limit on downloads. The design maker runs in your browser, so your photos and words aren’t uploaded anywhere.
Can I come back to my design later?
Yes. Designs are kept in this browser and listed under Your designs when you open the design maker. To move one to another device, use Download › Save editable project.
Everything else is in the design maker guide.
