Templates to start from
Pick one to open it in the design maker, ready to edit. You can also start from a blank canvas in any of these sizes.
How to make one
- Pick a template. It opens in the design maker, in your browser.
- Change the words and pictures. Double-tap any text to type over it, and double-tap a photo frame to add your own photo.
- Make it yours. With nothing selected, choose a colour palette and a font pairing, and the whole design changes to match. Move, resize or add anything you like.
- Download. Choose Download › Video. It records the animation, one page after another, and saves an MP4 (or a WebM in some versions of Firefox).
Sizes
| Format | Pixels |
|---|---|
| Story / Reel cover | 1080 × 1920 |
| Instagram post | 1080 × 1080 |
| Instagram portrait | 1080 × 1350 |
Tips
- Six styles: Fade, Rise, Pop, Slide, Wipe, and Mixed, which chooses a suitable one for headings, photos and shapes. Large backgrounds stay still.
- Give one item its own animation (in its settings, under Animation) to make just a sticker or a price move on an otherwise still post.
- Three to six seconds a page suits most Stories. Several pages play one after another, which works well for a short sequence of offers or tips.
- Pictures and PDFs always show the finished design, so the same file gives you a still post too.
Common questions
What if my browser makes a WebM?
Some versions of Firefox record WebM instead of MP4. The file converter turns it into an MP4 for Instagram.
Can I add music?
Not yet. Add sound in the Instagram or TikTok app when you post, which also lets you use their licensed music.
Is it really free?
Yes. There’s no account, no watermark and no limit on downloads. The design maker runs in your browser, so your photos and words aren’t uploaded anywhere.
Can I come back to my design later?
Yes. Designs are kept in this browser and listed under Your designs when you open the design maker. To move one to another device, use Download › Save editable project.
Everything else is in the design maker guide.
