Privacy
The short version: we don't collect your data, there are no accounts, no cookies and no tracking, and your work stays in your browser.
Your data, charts and codes
- Everything you type, paste or import is processed by your own browser. It is not sent to our server or to anyone else.
- Charts you work on, and QR codes you download, are saved in your browser's storage on this device so you can come back to them. We can't see them. Clearing your browser's site data deletes them.
- Safari deletes a website's saved data if you don't visit it for 7 days. To keep a chart, save it as a chart file. Downloaded QR codes are unaffected.
- Files you import (CSV, Excel, logos, chart files) are read in your browser and never uploaded.
Maps
Data you paste or open in the map maker is read and drawn inside your browser and never uploaded. The boundaries (countries, US states and counties, UK councils and constituencies) come from this site, not from an online map service, so no one else learns what you're mapping. Your latest map is kept in your browser's storage on this device so you can pick it up again; clearing your browser's site data deletes it. Map share links work like chart share links (below): the data travels inside the link. The map embed code is entirely self-contained and loads nothing from this site or anyone else.
PDFs
PDFs and images you open in the PDF toolkit are read and rebuilt inside your browser. They are never uploaded. Passwords you type to open or protect a file stay on your device too. If you tick "Remember on this device" for a signature, it is saved in your browser's storage on this device only; you can remove it at any time from the signature window.
Pictures
Pictures you open in the image editor are read, changed and saved inside your browser. They are never uploaded, and that includes background removal: the AI model is downloaded to your browser (once, about 44 MB) and runs on your own device. By default, the editor removes the location and camera details that phones store inside photos. The editor remembers a few preferences (such as quality and file-name style) in your browser, but never your pictures.
Converted files
Files you open in the file converter are read and converted inside your browser, including video and audio, which use your device's own hardware. Nothing is uploaded. Documents being converted can't load anything from the internet either: pictures or styles they link to elsewhere are left out, so a document can't reveal that it's been opened. Converted videos keep their title and recording date but have their location removed, unless you choose otherwise. If you choose a folder to save into, the converter writes only the files you convert into that folder, and only while the page is open. The converter remembers a few preferences (such as CSV separator and video quality) in your browser, but never your files.
QR codes
A QR code made here holds exactly what you typed, such as your link or Wi-Fi details, and nothing else. It doesn't point to our server first, so we never learn when or where a code is scanned, and it keeps working even if this site goes away. Remember that anyone who scans a Wi-Fi code can read the password inside it.
Chart and map share links
A share link contains the whole chart or map, including its data, inside the link itself. Anyone who has the link can open a copy and see that data, so treat a link like the data it holds. Everything is stored after the # in the address, a part that browsers don't send to web servers, so opening a link doesn't reveal its contents to us.
What our web host sees
Like almost every website, our hosting provider keeps standard server logs: your IP address, the pages and files requested, the time, and your browser type. We use these only to keep the site running and secure, never to identify you or for advertising.
Third parties
- The lettering on these pages is loaded from Google Fonts. Like any website, Google can see your IP address when your browser fetches the font files. See Google Fonts privacy.
- The page loads no advertising, analytics or social media scripts.
- If you use the interactive embed code on your own website, that page loads the d3 chart library from cdnjs (run by Cloudflare). This only applies to the site where you place the embed, not to these tools.
Cookies
We don't set any cookies. The browser storage mentioned above holds only your own charts, your latest map, recent QR codes, any signatures you chose to remember, and layout settings, and is never read by our server.
