Comedy flyer maker guide
How to make a poster for your comedy night: choose a design, add your performers and details, then download it for social media or print.
Quick start
- Pick a design. Each one is drawn by hand, not generated by AI. Tap one to try it; your details carry over.
- Choose colours from the presets, or set your own under Custom colours.
- Type the name of your night and a line underneath it.
- Set how many performers (1 to 10), then add names and photos.
- Fill in when and where: date, time, venue, tickets, and your social channels. Add your booking website to put a scannable QR code on the flyer.
- Download the size you need. Check the preview first: what you see is what you get.
Performers and photos
Choose between 1 and 10 acts. Each has a name, an optional label (such as Headliner or Host) and a photo. Add photos one at a time, or pick many at once under Add several photos: they fill the acts in order. You can also drag pictures onto an act.
Use Adjust photo to drag the picture and zoom so the face sits where you want it. Use the arrows to reorder acts. Tick Make the first act bigger to give your headliner more space.
Until you add a photo, an act shows a plain placeholder figure. Photos are kept in this browser so they are still there when you come back, and they are never uploaded.
Tip: Square-ish, well-lit photos work best. The design settings under Photo style can turn every photo black and white, which makes a mixed set of pictures look consistent.
Sizes
- Square and Portrait suit Instagram and Facebook posts.
- Story is tall, for Stories, Reels and TikTok. Keep in mind apps cover the top and bottom edges with their own buttons.
- Wide suits Facebook and event covers, and X.
- A5, A4, A3, Letter and A4 wide are print sizes, made at 300 dpi.
Each size is laid out again from scratch, not stretched, so text and photos always fit.
Printing
For a print shop, choose a print size and tick Add 3 mm bleed. The picture then extends past the cut line, and the PDF records where to trim. If you print at home, leave it off. Download the PDF for printing and the PNG for sharing.
The PDF contains a high-resolution picture of the flyer rather than live text, so it prints exactly as the preview looks.
The pack
Download everything makes one ZIP with a square post, a portrait post, a Story, a wide picture and an A4 PDF.
Booking website and QR code
Under Booking and QR code, add the address of your booking page (Eventbrite, Skiddle, Dice, Ticket Tailor or your own site). Tick Show a QR code and a code appears in the details, so people can point their phone camera at the flyer and go straight to the page. The address itself also appears in the details as text (without the https:// and www.), for people who would rather type it. Untick Show the web address to leave it off.
- Words under the code default to "Scan to book". Change them to anything you like, or clear them.
- Code size: choose Large for posters seen from a distance, or when the flyer warns that the code is small.
The code holds your address itself, so it never expires and nobody can track who scans it. Use a short, stable address, and always test the printed code with a phone before printing lots. The checks under the preview warn you if the code would print smaller than about 2 cm.
Privacy
Everything happens in your browser. Photos and details are stored on this device only, so clearing your browser data removes them. Use Start a blank flyer to clear them yourself.
Common questions
Why not just use an AI poster generator?
AI posters tend to garble text, invent faces and look alike. Here the layouts, lettering and illustrations are designed by people and your real photos and words are placed exactly as you typed them.
My photo from an iPhone won't load.
HEIC photos open in Safari but not in every browser. Convert it with the image editor first, or export it as JPG from your Photos app.
Can I change the fonts?
Each design comes with its own lettering, chosen to go with it. Pick a different design to change the feel.
